WARREN- Florence E. Carthorn 94, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on March 15, 2026. She was born July 4,1931 in Warren, OH a daughter of the late Hersey SR & Mamie (Grayson) Scippio.
She was a long-time resident of Warren, OH and worked at Saratoga Restaurant for 30 years, where she served as the lead cook and retired in 1995. Florence gave birth to two girls, the late Joyce Morgan and Sherry Carthorn. Florence enjoyed watching the late-night show, game shows, crossword puzzles, cooking, spending time with her family and most of all reading her Tora (Florence was of the Jewish faith). Florence lived a very private and peaceful life, but she loved having meaningful conversations with those that she loved and being cared for and spoiled by her daughter Sherry and granddaughters TuShalla Carthorn. She also always loved when all her grandchildren would come and visit her that lived in the area and out of state.
Survivors include her Daughter Sherry E. Carthorn of Warren OH, 16 Grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents. three sisters and one brother preceded her in death Gloria Cox, Edna Scippio, Beatrice Spiva and Hersey Scippio Jr. Also one daughter Joyce Morgan and one grandson Anthony Davis preceded her in death.
Friends and family will be received Friday, March 27, 2026 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Believers Chapel, 2609 Weir Rd. NE, Warren. A graveside service will be at Pine Knoll Cemetery in Warren Twp. at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Beacon Funeral and Cremation Services in Warren 330-598-0217.
